Engine 96 reel: Thomas fanfic storyPrologue
Several years ago, I bought and received a lot of 80s and 90s media from an Ebay seller. Among them were a Nintendo 64 and 64DD with games for it (one of which was a prototype for the Super Mario 64 sequel, which I'll detail some other time), and other goodies. But what truly got my attention was the Thomas & Friends videos in the lot.
The auction's description mentioned that several of the Thomas videos were actually given to him prior to the release of the certain seasons on VHS, implying that the seller originally worked on the show in some way. Some of the early tapes he sent me were in relatively good condition (Considering some are almost thirty years old) and some are a little worse for wear, with missing boxes, labels, etc.
Some of the tapes had the original labels missing and had crudely written replacement labels stuck to them. Other tapes had earlier versions of certain episodes with extra (or missing) sound effects, as well as short bits of footage that did

A Delfino ProblemMario is walking through Delfino Plaza with FLUDD, when he hears Peach scream and Toad run away
Mario looks in horror, and sees what he thinks is Petey Piranha.
Mario: I’m-a coming, Peach!
Mario comes, and with eyes closed, begins using FLUDD on “Petey”
Peach: Uhh, Mario. I just wanted to know where you were?
Mario (turning around head to see Peach): Oh, is there a problem.
Peach (pointing at Mario’s direction): Now there is.
Mario looks up, and sees he was squirting an angry, burly man who was wearing clothes that made him look like Petey.
Mario grins nervously
Mario: Would "sorry" cut it?
Man punches Mario, cut to Toad now just wandering aimlessly when he hears a punch and Mario flies to him, landing at his feet. Mario has several cartoonish injuries.
Toad: Did you get him?
Mario: Shut up.

Open to Mario and Luigi on the way to save Peach from Larry Koopa
Narrator: We join our Italian heroes as they are on their way to save the Princess from one of Bowser's kids. You've guessed it, folks! It's Larry Koopa.
Mario: How close are we to Larry’s castle, Weeg?
Luigi (reading map): You kidding? We only just walked 10 miles back there.
Pan out to sky where we see jet fighter. The pilot is Slim who is talking to someone else
Pilot: So boss, what do I do?
Cut to reveal “boss” refers to Larry
Larry: Get them, moron!
Pilot fires missles at Marios
Luigi (looking up in shock): Look, Mario!
Narrator: As the bomb is about to make its target, our Italian plumbers leaped into a pipe to duck.
Both leap into a pipe as the bomb misses them.
Larry: Did you get them?
Pilot: Going back for another try.
