PRR Experiments: Part 1 by mrbill6ishere PRR Experiments: Part 1 by mrbill6ishere
With the PRR superpower done. Now we are going into if they chose to expand upon super power concepts. ll these ideas would be built by Lima.

1. The K6 4-6-6. My idea is the PRR could have tried a counterpart to the T1 for smaller passenger trains.  When tested, however, the K6s were found to have more power than adhesion. So they were used mainly on slower stopping passenger trains. They were also used on slow freights. Often being double-headed.

2. The S3 4-8-6. My idea is when the K6 was found to suffer from lack of adhesion. The PRR
added another driver set. Thus making a good locomotive for slower passenger trains and fast freight.

3. The T3 4-4-4-4: My idea is the PRR decided to make a freight version of the T1. But instead, they were inspired by the ATSF Cab Forward (which I may make in the future.) Thus, they ordered Lima to create the T3 as the T1's freight equivalent. Initially they burned oil due to concerns of how easy it would be to fire the engine with coal. But this was changed in the 80s and 90s, when American Coal Enterprises was formed, and converted them to coal firing via computer controls.

Some of my work is on the Sam's page you know. But I'm guessing you've only found pixel magic so far.

The Southern Pacific had the cab forwards, not the Santa Fe.

I know. But a failed plan for some 6-4-4-4 duplex ones by Baldwin for the ATSF was recorded.
