The following are several ideas for hypothetical excursions during my fictionalized Norfolk Southern Steam Program. Which never ended here. It is also important to note that this version of Norfolk Southern loses all of its former New York Central lines in exchange for the Lackawanna and all of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Date(s): June 23- 25, 1996
Locomotive(s): Pennsylvania 1361, Norfolk and western 611
Route: Chicago- Cincinnati (via Logansport IN)- Roanoke- Norfolk
Notes: This was the first excursion with 1218 since went in 1991 for an overhaul in Roanoke. It had previously done a ferry move from Birmingham, AL to Roanoke. But this was its first official excursion since the restoration.

Date(s): March 7, 1996
Locomotive(s): Southern 4501
Route: Nashville- Salisbury, NC
Notes: The first excursion over the old Tennessee Central after NS acquired it in 1992.

Date(s): July 9, 1997
Locomotive(s): Pennsylvania Railroad 5533
Route: Altoona- Pittsburgh
Notes: This was the first excursion for the T1 duplex, which had just been accepted into the Norfolk Southern corporation’s Steam Excursion Fleet. The original plan was to operate the excursion from Altoona to Chicago via the Broadway Limited’s route. But this was scaled down due to concerns about sudden failure of the engine.
This is my idea for my fictionalized NS. Which as far as trackage goes, drops the NYC water Level Route for all of the Tennesee Central, PRR, the Lackawanna, and the Reading. That and other steam locomotives are still operated.

ADDITIONAL IDEAS ARE HEAVILY REQUESTED
